TOURNAMENT FACILITY
After long and hard process of searching for perfect location for FPAW24 in Warsaw we are proud to finally anounce it!
The 4-day tournament, from Wednesday 14.08 to Saturday 17.08, will take place at Wilanów Sports Center (Centrum Sportu Wilanów), located just next to famous Wilanow Royal Palace in southern district of Warsaw. Our main event venue provides large 75x45m natural grass playing field, and 45m x 25m gym at the same location – both with high capacity audience stands! Faciliy includes toilets, showers, sports cloakrooms, paid parking, small park at site with kids playgorund, benches, enough space inside gym for our stuff and whole event backend. Small park and trees at the site provide shaded area in case of high summer heat to cool down.
Our main goal is to play tournament fully outdoors and use gym only in case of bad outdoor conditions – which is low probability. Despite this gym will be still fully open during event for players – if you prefer to play or practice indoor at any time.
EVENT AREA AND WAYFINDING
The closest surrounding area offers few small restaurants, Royal Palace museum wih park, MacDonald, public bus station with few lines. 7 minutes walking distance from event there is mall with big grocery store, dining/drinking and breakfast options, coffeshop and commercial shops.
Warsaw has good and developed public transport, cheap public bikes and also cheap Uber. Go to WARSAW WAYFINDING site to check for information about using public transport, taxi, public bikes and some good tips on how to get easy and fast to your destinations during Championships.
SUNDAY FREESTYLE PICNIC
On 5th day, Sunday 18.08, celebrating the 50th year anniversary of Freestyle Frisbee Worlds, we will move with our event to the park for a free jamming day combined with public jam spreading and frisbee workshops for kids. Freestyle Picnic will probably take place closer to city center in public park. Location will be announced when confirmed.
